New TVAUG Forum is HERE – Where are YOU?

New TVAUG Forum is HERE – Where are YOU?

Our new help Forum has been up and running smoothly since May 29th and now has about 250 members.  But that is less than a third of our total membership.  Since our in-person Help sessions at Saddlebrook have been canceled until at least this Fall, we have put in place an online Help meeting as part of our TVAUG Tuesdays on the 4th Tuesday of every month (see our Meetings here).

But even after we get back together with all our in-person meetings at Saddlebrook, that is only 4 meetings per month.

Your Forum is available as a resource
ALL day – EVERY day!

And it’s easy to join and use!  Instructions for joining are here and there is a recorded presentation from June 9th here that describes its use.  If you are not currently a member of our forum, you are missing out on a great resource for help and information. So why aren’t YOU a member yet?

TVAUG Tuesdays – HELP Session

TVAUG Tuesdays – HELP Session

Our next online meeting via Zoom will be on October 27 at 1:30pm as a HELP Session.  An email with details and a link to login is sent out on the Friday before the upcoming meeting to active members who are on our MailChimp mailing list.  If you can’t find that email and still want to participate, the login info is also in our Forum on its calendar.

NOTE: Our Zoom HELP Sessions are NOT recorded!

Remember…our Forum is restricted to Active Members only so you do have to have your yearly membership subscription up-to-date to access this info.

The Forum is a great resource for members to seek help from other TVAUG members.  You can post a question, review previous Q&A postings, and filter for selected postings.

We have over 250 of our members participating already.  In light of the current environment not permitting our regular in-person meetings,  this is another great way to get your Apple-related questions answered quickly.

iOS14 and Watch Updates

iOS14 and Watch Updates

On Wednesday, September 16 Apple made iOS 14 for the iPhone, iPad OS14, Watch OS7, and Apple TV OS available to the public. So whether to upgrade is weighing the risks and rewards. There could be some bugs that need updating.  Based on personal experience, in my case everything went smoothly. I updated all of my devices.

There are some things to consider before jumping in and going for it. As far as the iPhone and iPad go if it was running iOS13 or iPad OS 13 it can handle the update. Secondly, make sure there is enough space on the device. You may need to do some pruning.

This happened to me on a previous Watch update. I had to do some deleting.

It is smart to do an iCloud backup of your iPhone and iPad before proceeding. You can also do a second backup to your Mac or PC. Things could happen during the download. Give the downloads and install time. The time of day can affect the download duration. The Watch upgrade was slow.

Next month our October 6 Zoom meeting we will look a features in iOS 14 and iPad OS14.
